This morning, I visited with Engine 13 in Greenville, where my brother Jon is Captain. They’re a great group of guys. They love their jobs and Jersey City, but there are areas that need significant improvement, including the current dispatch system, insurance coverage, and traffic issues to improve response times for the community. I’m from a family of Jersey City Fire Fighters (which I guess is no surprise with the last name Burns), and I’ll fight to make sure the FDJC has what they need to continue keeping residents safe.
And special shout out to this engine for donating clothes to help the families on Danforth last night!
